Altare is one of the symbol places for glass activities in Europe.
We have notice of glass working up to XIII century.
Together with Murano they have been for some centuries the two main places for glass production in Italy. Glass masters coming from Altare are present in Europe with their firms since XIV century.
Nowadays in Altare there are important industries producing tableware glass.
